Amna Baloch, the second female foreign secretary in the history of Pakistan’s Foreign Service, is set to assume her new role on Wednesday. This comes as Cyrus Qazi steps down from his position upon reaching the age of superannuation after serving as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Brussels and the European Union.
In a statement released by the foreign office on Tuesday, Cyrus Sajjad Qazi was bid farewell as the 32nd foreign secretary of Pakistan. He served in this capacity for 13 months before attaining superannuation.
