Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says Palestinian people will not surrender and remain steadfast in the face of Israeli occupation of their lands.
Speaking at a ceremony in Ramallah, he said Palestinians will expand the scope of their peaceful popular resistance, and take action at the international level to compel Israel to end its occupation and stop its aggression.
Mehmood Abbas said Israel will also be held accountable for its crimes and breaches of international law, expressing the hope that truth, justice and peace will prevail in the end.
Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has pledged to oppose Israeli settlements or annexation in the occupied West Bank.
Speaking to a left-leaning pro-Israel advocacy group, he said the Biden administration will continue to unequivocally oppose any acts that undermine the prospects of a two-state solution.
He also opposed disruption in the historic status quo of holy sites, demolitions and evictions, and incitement to violence.
