Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced on Twitter, saying the premier had made a choice while exercising his constitutional powers. She further said that Lt Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza had been picked as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
