Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Balochistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Balochistan on Thursday to assess the security situation after a series of deadly terrorist attacks. He condemned the attacks, which were carried out by militants affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), resulting in the loss of at least 50 lives, including civilians and security personnel.

During his visit, the Prime Minister chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the security situation with top government and security officials. He emphasized the need to eradicate terrorism from Balochistan and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the province’s progress and development.

In response to the attacks, the Prime Minister announced a policy to deploy police and civil officers to Balochistan, with the aim of ensuring peace, stability, and development in the province. Additionally, he asserted the government’s iron resolve to eliminate all anti-state elements and emphasized the importance of differentiating between those who respect the Constitution and those with nefarious designs to destabilize the country.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the Gwadar port for the province’s development and prosperity, expressing the government’s determination to counter any efforts to hinder the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the port’s operationalization.

The Prime Minister’s visit was accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, demonstrating the federal government’s support for Balochistan in combating terrorism.

Additionally, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah called for a truth and reconciliation commission for Balochistan, urging Baloch leaders to come forward and resolve issues through dialogue.

The government remains committed to addressing the security concerns in Balochistan and maintaining peace and stability in the region.
