ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s keenness to enhance bilateral relations with the US across various domains, emphasizing that the ties between the two nations were “back on track.”
In his address at a ceremony commemorating the 247th Independence Day of the US, he stated that Pakistan and the US had made sincere endeavors to mend their relations, setting aside any doubts and misconceptions.
He personally vowed, as the head of the government and as a Pakistani, to foster improved and robust ties with the US based on mutual trust and admiration.
“Throughout the past 75 years, our relationship has witnessed ups and downs, but overall we have been staunch allies,” he reminisced.
Highlighting the US as Pakistan’s largest trade partner and an unwavering ally in the fight against terrorism, he acknowledged the significance of their alliance.
