  1. National Housing Authority: Established in 1987, the National Housing Authority is responsible for the development of affordable housing schemes across the country.
  2. Pakistan Housing Authority: Founded in 1993, the Pakistan Housing Authority is responsible for the provision of affordable housing units for low-income families.
  3. Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation: Created in 1990, the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation is responsible for providing affordable housing to government employees.
  4. Punjab Land Development Company: Established in 2009, the Punjab Land Development Company is responsible for the development of new housing schemes and the rehabilitation of existing ones in the province of Punjab.
  5. Sindh Building Control Authority: Established in 1979, the Sindh Building Control Authority is responsible for regulating and monitoring the construction of buildings in the province of Sindh.

To revamp the housing sector in Pakistan, financial, administrative, developmental, and planning strategies need to be put in place. These include:

  1. Financial Strategies: The government needs to provide low-cost financing options, such as mortgage financing, to potential homeowners. Additionally, the government can offer tax incentives to private developers who invest in the housing sector.
  2. Administrative Strategies: To ensure effective implementation of housing policies, the government should establish an independent regulatory body to monitor and regulate the housing sector. This body should be responsible for enforcing building codes, zoning regulations, and land-use policies.
  3. Developmental Strategies: The government should invest in the development of infrastructure, such as water supply, sanitation, and transportation, to support the growth of the housing sector.   4. Planning Strategies: The government should develop a comprehensive national housing policy that outlines the goals, objectives, and strategies for the housing sector.
