Sahibzada Farhan’s Blazing Century Powers Islamabad United to 102-Run Win Over Peshawar Zalmi

Islamabad United delivered a dominant performance on Monday, crushing Peshawar Zalmi by 102 runs in a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 showdown at Rawalpindi. The victory was headlined by a sensational century from Sahibzada Farhan, who smashed 106 runs off just 52 balls.

Batting first, defending champions United racked up a massive total of 243/5 in their 20 overs. Farhan led the charge with an innings full of fireworks, hitting 13 boundaries and 5 sixes. Colin Munro added 40 off 27 balls, while Salman Ali Agha chipped in with a rapid 30 off 15 deliveries.

Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers had a tough day, with Hussain Talat and Azarri Joseph managing two wickets each, but struggling to contain the flow of runs.

United skipper Shadab Khan praised Farhan’s performance, saying, “Credit goes to Sahibzada Farhan for the hard work he’s put in behind the scenes. This knock shows what he’s capable of when given the chance.”

Zalmi, in response, suffered an early batting collapse. Captain Babar Azam fell for just one run, while fellow opener Saim Ayub managed only six. Mitchell Owen also failed to deliver, getting out for 10.

The only bright spot for Zalmi was Mohammad Haris, who scored a fighting 87 off 47 balls. However, the rest of the lineup couldn’t support him, with wickets falling quickly to Islamabad’s disciplined bowling attack.

Imad Wasim led the charge with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 26 runs. Shadab Khan and Ben Dwarshuis each took two wickets, while Jason Holder and Naseem Shah grabbed one apiece. Zalmi were eventually bowled out for 141 in 18.2 overs.

Sahibzada Farhan was rightfully named Player of the Match for his game-changing century, helping Islamabad United continue their strong run in the PSL 2025 season.
