Schedule Unveiled for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Hosted by Pakistan

The proposed schedule of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan will host, has been revealed, as reported by the Telegraph on Sunday. The matches are scheduled to take place in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore from February 19 to March 9.

The tournament will showcase the top eight teams from last year’s ODI World Cup, divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final matches will be held in Karachi and Rawalpindi on March 5 and 6, with the final scheduled for Lahore on March 9.

Group A includes a diverse mix of cricketing powerhouses-Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B consists of England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan. This diversity is a testament to the global appeal of the ICC Champions Trophy.

According to the schedule, Pakistan will commence the tournament against New Zealand in Karachi on February 19, while India will take on Bangladesh in Lahore on February 20. The match between India and Pakistan on March 1 in Lahore is sure to be a highlight of the tournament, eagerly awaited by fans.

England’s campaign will kick off with a match against Australia in Lahore on February 22. Subsequently, they will face Afghanistan on February 25 and conclude their group stage against South Africa in Rawalpindi on March 2.

It’s worth noting that all member countries have confirmed their support for the Champions Trophy to the ICC. The BCCI will make a decision after consulting with the government.

This event marks the long-awaited return of the ICC Champions Trophy after an eight-year hiatus, with its last occurrence in 2017, when Pakistan emerged victorious by defeating India in the final. This return is sure to evoke fond memories for cricket enthusiasts.
