Trump Assures Consideration of Munir’s Advice on Hormuz Blockade

[post-views]

Islamabad: US President Donald Trump has told Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir that he would consider his concerns over the Strait of Hormuz blockade, which Islamabad views as a major obstacle to peace talks with Iran.

According to a Pakistani security source, the two leaders spoke by phone amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to revive negotiations between Washington and Tehran. During the call, Munir emphasised that continued disruption in the Strait of Hormuz is undermining the prospects for dialogue.

Trump acknowledged the concern and said he would take the advice into account as the US prepares for a possible new round of talks in Islamabad.

Pakistan has been playing a key mediating role in recent weeks, hosting earlier discussions and pushing for de-escalation. However, rising tensions and the ongoing blockade have complicated efforts to bring both sides back to the negotiating table.
