Punjab’s Information Minister Uzma Bukhari criticized Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) as a “hideout for terrorists” and urged the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to take immediate action. Uzma alleged that Zartaj Gul, who she described as a “terrorist,” has taken refuge in K-P and questioned why no action was being taken, urging the judiciary to intervene. She emphasized the importance of unity among all Pakistanis regardless of provincial differences and expressed concern over the lack of effective action.
Furthermore, Uzma criticized the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), stating that it lacks the capability to address critical issues, particularly in controlling harmful online content. She also expressed dissatisfaction with the agency’s delayed response in removing offensive material and called for the shutdown of apps that cannot be properly managed.

In addition, federal Ministers Attaullah Tarar and Engineer Amir Maqam alleged that attendees at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) recent rally were coerced to participate. The ministers denounced the opposition, particularly the chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, for using provocative language at the rally and claimed that public resources were misused for the event, criticizing the opposition’s focus on threats rather than solutions for the nation.
The day after PTI held its rally in the capital, the government swiftly arrested its leaders for violating hastily enacted laws regulating public gatherings. Islamabad police detained PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, and Advocate Shoaib Shaheen outside the parliament. Additionally, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, head of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), was also arrested outside the parliament. Islamabad police spokesperson Jawad Taqi confirmed the arrests and indicated that more detentions, including PTI’s Omar Ayub Khan and Zartaj Gul Wazir, were imminent.
