Chilas: At least 20 people were killed and 21 injured when a bus fell into a deep ravine in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Chilas this morning.

According to the details, an accident took place on the Karakoram highway in Yashukhaldas area of ​​Chilas. The bus was going from Rawalpindi to Hunza. When the driver tried to take a sharp turn, he could not control the vehicle and the bus fell into a ditch, killing 20 people and injuring 21 others.

The rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured to Chilas Hospital. Aid sources say that the death toll may rise further as most of the injured are in critical condition.

Spokesman Gilgit-Baltistan said that after the accident emergency was imposed in Chilas Hospital. Gilgit-Baltistan government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq confirmed the death toll and said that the bus met with an accident around 5 am.
