Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced that the government is set to table the 27th Constitutional Amendment in Parliament soon. Speaking in the Senate, he clarified that the bill is entirely government-sponsored and not influenced externally. Dar emphasized transparency, stating that the amendment would undergo full parliamentary debate and follow all constitutional procedures.
He revealed that consultations with coalition partners are in progress, with three rounds of talks already held with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that all allied parties will be taken into confidence before the final presentation of the amendment.

Dar suggested that the bill should first be introduced in the Senate to ensure inclusive debate. He assured that sufficient time will be provided for deliberation in both Houses and their standing committees. Responding to opposition concerns, he added that the Chairman Senate will soon be requested to appoint the Leader of the Opposition to strengthen parliamentary consultations.
