Pakistan’s Interior Minister Visits Tehran to Support Iran-US Peace Efforts

[post-views]

TEHRAN: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Saturday for a two-day official visit aimed at supporting stalled peace talks between Iran and the United States, according to Iranian media reports.

Iran’s Tasnim news agency said the visit is part of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to promote regional stability and help revive negotiations between Tehran and Washington. Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni received Naqvi upon his arrival.

The visit comes only days after Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, also travelled to Tehran, reflecting Islamabad’s growing role in regional diplomacy.

Pakistan has been actively involved in mediation efforts and last month hosted an important meeting between Iranian and American delegations. A fragile ceasefire that began on April 8 has largely stopped the fighting triggered by US and Israeli strikes on Iran in February.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi recently said Tehran had received signals from Washington showing willingness to continue talks. Meanwhile, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that the US must accept Iran’s proposed peace framework or risk further diplomatic failure.
