China’s media quoted Xi Jinping, China’s president, as saying today that China will continue to support Pakistan in alleviating its financial situation.
China and Pakistan agreed to move forward more efficiently to implement the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and will speed up the construction of infrastructure for the Gwadar Sea Port, as reported by the State media of China.
In a meeting with PM Shahbaz Sharif, President Xi agreed to strengthen the strategic partnership between Islamabad and Beijing and, also bilateral cooperation in different areas of major importance.
