Former Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir came to the defense of Ihsanullah on Thursday via social media, stating that the team management should not undermine his self-assurance.
Despite Ihsanullah’s status as one of the top bowlers in season eight of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the T20I series against Afghanistan, where he made his international debut, he has been benched for the first four matches of the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand.
Amir took to Twitter and expressed his disappointment in Ihsanullah’s benching, stating, “I was eagerly waiting to see Ihsanullah bowl in the New Zealand series, but he has been benched. He was the finest bowler in the PSL and the series against Afghanistan. Everyone loved his fast and aggressive bowling style as well as his celebrations. Instead of demolishing his confidence, we should be mentoring Ihsanullah.”
