The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed the Attorney General of Pakistan, Mansoor Awan, to present parliamentary records by tomorrow, in relation to the petitions challenging the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill 2023, which seeks to curb the powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The bench is headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, and comprises Justices Ijaz ul Ahsan, Munib Akhtar, Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Ayesha Malik, Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Shahid Waheed. On the previous hearing, notices were issued to the government, AGP, political parties, bar councils, and others to submit their response in the petitions against the bill.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz also submitted a plea for the formation of a full court to hear the matter, which has not been marked yet, according to Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
