Twin Cities Officials Clarify: No Closure of Transport Terminals

[post-views]

The administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Friday denied reports suggesting that transport terminals had been shut down, clarifying that all public transport services are operating normally.

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfaz Nawaz Memon stated on social media platform X that all bus terminals, including Faizabad, remain fully open and that transport operations are running without interruption across the capital.

The Islamabad Traffic Police also confirmed that inter-city transport services continue as usual, adding that no orders have been issued to suspend operations. Officials further said any future decisions regarding closures would be communicated in advance through official channels.

Citizens were urged to rely only on verified updates and avoid circulating unconfirmed reports.

Similarly, Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema also clarified that all private, public, and goods transport services are fully functional in the district, assuring that any developments would be officially announced if necessary.

The clarification came after rumours circulated on Thursday night about possible restrictions on transport services in the twin cities ahead of potential diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad.
