The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has announced a substantial prize of $50,000 for gold medalists at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In a similar vein, the Punjab government in Pakistan has taken a proactive role in celebrating Arshad Nadeem’s achievement, declaring a reward of 100 million rupees. Their commitment extends to naming a sports city after Arshad Nadeem in his hometown, an honour announced by Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan, who also pledged a personal reward of 2 million rupees and extended an invitation for Arshad Nadeem to visit the Governor House.
The Sindh government also joined in acknowledging Arshad Nadeem’s remarkable feat by pledging a noteworthy reward of 50 million rupees. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab went a step further and announced the establishment of a sports academy in Karachi to be named after Arshad Nadeem. Additionally, the Mayor of Sukkur promised to honour the Olympian with a gold crown, further highlighting the widespread support for his achievement. Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also announced a reward of 2 million rupees for Arshad Nadeem.

Renowned singer Ali Zafar pledged 1 million rupees through his foundation in acknowledgement of his historic win, while the Karachi Press Club announced honorary membership for Arshad Nadeem, solidifying his status as a national icon. Private entities such as TV channel owner Salman Iqbal, cricketer Ahmed Shehzad, and Pakistan Gas and Oil also pledged significant rewards and support, including an apartment, 1 million rupees, and a lifetime supply of free petrol, respectively.
