CJP Isa is scheduled to retire in October this year, and amidst rumors of a potential extension through judicial legislation, he affirmed his stance. Despite suggestions to extend the tenure of other judges, CJP Isa emphasized that he himself will not accept an extension. The legal community states that there is no constitutional mechanism for such an extension without amendments to the Constitution, and even if the government desires it, it would require a two-thirds majority in both houses of parliament.
