CJP to Convene Meetings for High Court Judge Appointments Across Pakistan

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi has scheduled four separate meetings of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) to discuss the appointment of additional judges in various high courts. The meetings will focus on nominations for judges in Islamabad, Balochistan, Sindh, Peshawar, and Lahore High Courts.

The first meeting will take place on January 17, where the JCP will review the appointments of four additional judges for the Islamabad High Court and three for the Balochistan High Court.

On January 23, the Sindh High Court session will convene to deliberate on nominations for 12 additional judges. Following that, the Peshawar High Court’s session is scheduled for February 1, where the JCP will consider nine judge appointments.

Finally, the Lahore High Court will wrap up the series with a meeting on February 6, discussing the nominations for 10 additional judges.

These meetings are part of an ongoing process to strengthen the judiciary by ensuring the appointment of qualified and capable judges to uphold justice across Pakistan.
