In a powerful declaration, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, delivered a firm message that the nation would neither forgive nor forget those accountable for the events that occurred on May 9.

During his visit to the Police Line in Islamabad on Pakistan Martyrs’ Day, COAS expressed these sentiments, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

General Syed Asim Munir regarded the incidents of May 9 as profoundly tragic and reprehensible. He underscored that the nation would not tolerate any disrespect towards the memorials of martyrs or any actions that undermined their honor.

The sacrifices made by these brave individuals cannot be erased under any circumstances. The Pakistan army, alongside the police and other law enforcement agencies, serves as a symbol of the state and stands as its foremost defense.

General Munir commended their unwavering dedication and readiness to make any sacrifice for the dignity of the country.

The COAS conveyed a resolute message to the families of the martyrs, assuring them of the unwavering solidarity and support of the people and armed forces. He emphasized that both the nation and its forces firmly stand with the families of martyrs from all law enforcement agencies.

Upon arriving at the police line, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir received a warm welcome from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan.
