Dr. Saleh, who was the 109th key holder of the Kaaba, recently passed away. Following his demise, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed their condolences.
Dr. Saleh had embarked on a significant six-day visit to Pakistan last year, during which he held meetings with the country’s top leadership.

For centuries, the esteemed responsibility of serving as the custodian of the Kaaba has been entrusted to the al-Shaibi family. This revered role encompasses various duties, such as the maintenance of the Kaaba, overseeing the opening and closing of its doors, washing the sacred structure, and preparing or mending the Kiswa (the covering of the Kaaba) as required.
