Lahore: More than 200,000 books were sold at Punjab University’s three-day Book Fair 2026, held from October 15 to 17 at the New Campus in Lahore, setting a new sales record in the fair’s history.
Thousands of students, teachers, families, and book lovers attended the event, making it one of Pakistan’s major literary gatherings. According to university officials, more than 45,000 books were sold on the first day, 65,000 on the second, and over 90,000 on the final day. The fair aimed to promote reading habits and encourage young people to develop a stronger interest in books, knowledge, and education.
The books published by Republic Policy Think Tank, particularly its research-based governance series, attracted considerable interest from students and readers. The five books—Fixing the Executive, Fixing the Legislature, Fixing the Judiciary, The Bureaucratic Coup, and Beyond Four Provinces—present a comprehensive perspective on governance reforms, civil service restructuring, democratic institutions, judicial reforms, federalism, and Pakistan’s constitutional and political development.
The interest shown in these publications reflected the relevance of governance and public policy debates among students and young researchers. The books are particularly relevant to students of public administration, political science, law, and public policy, as well as CSS and PMS aspirants, M.Phil. and PhD scholars, teachers, and researchers.
Through its publications, Republic Policy Think Tank seeks to promote research-based debate and contribute to the development of a functional, democratic, and federal system of governance in Pakistan.
