The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has officially declared that the moon of Zilhaj has been sighted. As a result, the first day of Zilhaj will be observed on Saturday, which is today. Consequently, Eidul Azha will be celebrated in Pakistan on June 17. The announcement was made by committee Chairman Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad following a meeting at the Met Office.

During a press conference, Maulana Azad mentioned that evidence of the moon sighting had been reported from various parts of the country, including Peshawar, Attock, Kohat, Mianwali, Karak, Havelian, Shujaabad, Taxila, and Murree. This decision was the result of a consensus among experts and religious scholars from moon-sighting bodies who had convened separate meetings across the nation.

Additionally, a special prayer was offered for the unity of all Muslims, the protection of Haramain Sharifain, and the security and solidarity of Pakistan. The meeting was attended by notable figures such as the Chief of the Met Department, the Joint Secretary of Science and Technology, and Commander Pakistan Navy Syed Saeed, along with various members of the committee and other scholars.
