Four soldiers lost their lives, and 15 terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, according to the military’s media wing.
Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the collapse of a ceasefire agreement between the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the government in 2022.
The first operation took place in the Hathala area of Dera Ismail Khan district, where security forces acted on intelligence about terrorist presence. In the exchange of fire, nine terrorists, including key leaders Farman alias Saqib, Kharji Amanullah alias Toori, Kharji Saeed alias Liaqat, and Kharji Bilal, were killed. These individuals were responsible for numerous attacks and were highly wanted by law enforcement.

The second operation was carried out in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan, where security forces neutralized six more terrorists.
During the intense battle, Lieutenant Muhammad Hassaan Arshaf, 21, from Lahore, led his troops courageously and was martyred alongside three other soldiers—Naib Subedar Muhammad Bilal, 39, from Dera Ismail Khan; Sepoy Farhat Ullah, 27, from Lakki Marwat; and Sepoy Himat Khan, 29, from Mohmand.
Following the operations, security forces continued to search the areas to eliminate any remaining threats. The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating that such sacrifices only strengthen their resolve.
Earlier in the week, security forces killed 13 terrorists in five separate operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday night.
