The Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is under the control of the Hamas leadership, released a statement on Sunday reporting that the number of fatalities in the conflict between Israel and Palestinian fighters has reached at least 40,405, with an additional 71 deaths occurring in the last 24 hours alone. The ministry’s data also indicates that a total of 93,468 individuals have been wounded in the Gaza Strip since the hostilities commenced following a Hamas assault on Israel back on October 7th.
