The reported schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has sparked considerable interest and speculation, particularly with the proposed match between Pakistan and India set to take place on March 1 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. According to Indian media reports citing an ICC Board member, all member countries have expressed their support for the tournament, pending the decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after consultations with the government.

The proposed schedule, submitted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the ICC, outlines a total of 15 matches, with seven games scheduled to be held in Lahore, three in Karachi, and five in Rawalpindi. The schedule features two groups, with Group A comprising Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, and Group B consisting of England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.

The BCCI’s approval is still pending, and the proposed dates for the Champions Trophy are from February 19 to March 9, with March 10 designated as a reserve day for the tournament, as per Indian media reports. The PCB had previously sent the schedule of next year’s Champions Trophy to the ICC for final approval, outlining the distribution of matches across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

If the schedule is approved, the tournament will mark the return of the ICC Champions Trophy after an eight-year hiatus, with the last occurrence in 2017, when Pakistan emerged victorious by defeating India in the final. The anticipation surrounding the proposed schedule, especially regarding the high-stakes Pakistan-India match, has set the stage for a significant event in the world of cricket, awaiting final confirmation and broader discussions within the cricketing community.
