Imran Khan Suspects Ex-Spymaster of Forced Testimony

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan alleged that the detained ex-spymaster, Faiz Hameed, was being coerced to testify against him in a military court regarding May 9 cases. Additionally, the Islamabad High Court halted the announcement of a judgment in the £190 million corruption case involving Imran Khan and his spouse, pertaining to the Al Qadir Trust. Imran Khan sought a judicial probe into the May 9 violence and dismissed claims linking him to the riots. Furthermore, PTI leader Imran Khan accused the former army chief of betrayal and criticized the alleged deal between the army chief and the PML-N chief.

The IHC issued a restraining order on announcing the judgment and warned against delaying the case outcome. Imran Khan’s counsel sought the production of relevant records before the trial court. In a separate development, former president Arif Alvi expressed his willingness to remain in Pakistan even if charged under Article 6 for the dissolution of the National Assembly. PTI leader Hammad Azhar urged the establishment to refrain from interfering in politics and to respect the public mandate. Additionally, PTI leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat disapproved of Gen Faiz’s actions as spy chief, stating that Faiz Hameed’s “malpractices” had been unfairly attributed to the PTI, causing more harm than good to the party.
