Iran’s Araghchi, Pakistan Army Chief Discuss Regional Developments as US-Iran Talks Remain Stalled

[post-views]

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan’s army chief, Asim Munir, discussed the latest regional developments during a telephone conversation on Wednesday, according to Iranian media.

The discussion took place while Araghchi was visiting Beijing, as negotiations between the United States and Iran remained stalled with no agreement in sight.

China remains one of Iran’s most important economic partners, purchasing a significant share of its oil exports, while also maintaining an important diplomatic relationship with Tehran.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump expressed hope that the conflict involving Iran could be approaching an end.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said he hoped the war was nearing its conclusion and reiterated his claim that Iran wanted to reach an agreement, while adding that it remained to be seen how negotiations would develop.
