Ishaq Dar to Attend R-4 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Cairo

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar will visit Cairo on June 21 to attend the 4th meeting of the R-4 group of foreign ministers, the Foreign Office said on Friday.

According to the statement, the meeting is being hosted by Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty and will bring together the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye. The discussions will focus on regional developments and key issues related to peace, security, and stability.

The Foreign Office said the ministers will also review progress from previous R-4 meetings and explore ways to further enhance cooperation in areas of shared interest.

During the visit, Ishaq Dar is expected to hold bilateral talks with his Egyptian counterpart and call on President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. These engagements will focus on strengthening Pakistan-Egypt relations and exchanging views on regional and international matters.

Pakistan described its relations with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye as important and longstanding, adding that the R-4 framework reflects a shared commitment to consultation, cooperation, and coordinated efforts for regional peace and prosperity.
