Israeli Forces Strike “Houthi Targets” in Yemen, Causing Power Outages

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

On Sunday, the Israeli military launched airstrikes on power plants and a seaport in Yemen, resulting in power outages in the city of Hodeidah. The military stated that the strikes were in response to the Houthi group’s alleged cooperation with Iran and Iraqi militias to attack Israel and destabilize the region. In light of these developments, the US has increased air support and troop readiness in the Middle East.

Additionally, the Houthis have claimed to have fired missiles and drones at Israel in solidarity with Palestinians amid the Gaza crisis. The latest Houthi attack involved a ballistic missile aimed at the Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv, which Israel intercepted. The Houthis also mourned the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
