Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman recently delivered a powerful address at a large rally on Liaquat Bagh Road, highlighting the party’s ongoing protests as a beacon of hope for Pakistan and its youth. During his speech, Rehman emphasized JI’s commitment to challenging the status quo and advocating for systemic reforms in Pakistan.
Rehman commended the protesters for their unwavering determination to demand their rights despite enduring severe heat, a testament to their resilience and commitment. He expressed confidence that their resolve could compel the government to heed their demands, inspiring the audience with the power of collective action. He criticized certain forces and individuals for attempting to dishearten Pakistan’s youth, emphasizing that the ongoing protests are intended to unite the country rather than divide it.
“The enemies of Pakistan will face defeat,” he declared, stressing that JI’s rally represents every province and reflects a unified front against what he described as a corrupt elite. He asserted that this unification, this sense of belonging to a larger cause, would lead to the downfall of the corrupt class and genuinely liberate the nation from the grip of the wealthy and exploitative.
Rehman also criticized the current political landscape, alleging that it is dominated by corrupt leaders and international Independent Power Producers (IPPs) who have imposed financial burdens on ordinary citizens. He called for the immediate closure of fraudulent IPPs, an upgrade to the national grid, and a shift toward renewable energy sources like wind, hydro, and solar power.

The JI leader condemned the sale of schools in Punjab and the commercialization of education, pledging to prevent the sale of 13,000 schools. He also outlined the party’s plan to improve education access, which includes [specific steps or initiatives].
Addressing the issue of rising taxes on small items, Rehman urged continued resistance and advancement of the movement until demands were met, assuring supporters that the party’s efforts would persist until systemic changes were achieved. Furthermore, the JI chief announced plans to extend the protests to the major cities of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, calling for organized demonstrations in these provincial capitals.
