The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced the tragic news of the martyrdom of Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik on August 11, 2024. The courageous officer, aged 24 and hailing from District Attock, displayed exceptional bravery in the face of danger. He succumbed to his injuries at Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar, following an exchange of fire with ‘Khawarij’ militants in Tirah Valley on August 9.
According to the ISPR statement, the clash between security forces and terrorists occurred at three separate locations in Tirah Valley, resulting in the deaths of four militants. Additionally, three soldiers, including Havildar Inam Gul, Sepoy Muhammad Imran, and Sepoy Iltaf Khan, exhibited exemplary valor but ultimately embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
During the encounter, Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, displaying exceptional leadership and bravery, led his troops in combat at one of the locations in Bagh, successfully neutralizing four militants. His exceptional leadership and bravery are a source of pride for the nation. Despite his courageous efforts, he sustained critical injuries during the intense exchange of fire and was subsequently admitted to CMH Peshawar for treatment. Sadly, he passed away due to his injuries, marking his ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
