In a brazen incident, unidentified assailants targeted a US convoy in the southeastern region of Nigeria’s Anambra State on Tuesday. The ambush resulted in the tragic loss of four lives, while three individuals were taken captive.

These attacks reflect an alarming trend of heightened aggression by separatist factions operating in the area. Their preferred targets typically include law enforcement and government establishments.

Addressing the incident, police spokesperson Ikenga Tochukwu clarified that no US citizens were present in the convoy at the time of the assault.

Tochukwu detailed the grim outcome, stating that the gunmen callously executed two officers from the Police Mobile Force and two consulate staff members. Disturbingly, they proceeded to set the vehicle ablaze, leaving behind a scene of destruction.
