Sindh’s Interim Chief Minister, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, has given the green light for a collaborative operation involving the Pakistan Army and Sindh Rangers to combat criminal gangs in the province’s riverine, or Katcha, region.
In the 28th session of the provincial APEX committee held in Karachi, the interim chief minister granted approval for a joint and comprehensive operation targeting criminal groups in the Sukkur and Larkana divisions.
Justice (retd) Baqar expressed his disappointment during the meeting over the authorities’ inability to neutralize and address the activities of a small number of criminals in the Katcha area, which has resulted in the suspension of construction work on the Ghotki-Kashmore bridge.
