[post-views]

Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff, along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, has concluded a three-day official visit to Iran, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.

The visit centered on regional security developments, efforts to promote lasting peace, and continued diplomatic coordination amid evolving geopolitical conditions. Field Marshal Munir reiterated the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and peaceful settlement of disputes through sustained engagement between states.

During the visit, he met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and held separate meetings with senior Iranian political and military leadership, including the parliament speaker and foreign minister. He conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s leadership and expressed appreciation for Iran’s hospitality, while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

The statement said the visit underscores Pakistan’s broader approach of encouraging negotiated solutions to regional tensions and supporting stability in the Middle East.

It also noted Pakistan’s ongoing facilitation efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Iran and the United States, following earlier talks hosted in Islamabad that did not produce an agreement but helped maintain diplomatic contact between the two sides.
