LAHORE — The Quaid-e-Azam Library today officially launched the National Book Reading Movement under the platform of the “Republic Policy” think tank.
Addressing the special gathering, the driving force behind the initiative, Director General of Punjab Libraries Mr. Kashif Manzoor, stated:
“Our message is clear: every Pakistani citizen must read at least one book a year.”
Pak Media TV Chairman Muhammad Farooq Chauhan and President Allama Abdul Sattar Asim praised the launching ceremony of the National Book Reading Movement as a commendable initiative, noting that it will significantly promote a culture of reading and book-friendship across the country.
The inaugural event, held at the Quaid-e-Azam Library in Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore, was attended by notable figures, including former Cabinet Secretary Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, former Human Rights Secretary Tariq Mahmood, DG Libraries Kashif Manzoor, writer Hussain Majrooh, author of the Governance Reforms Series Tariq Mahmood Awan, Shoaib Bin Aziz, author Shahnaz Naqvi, as well as civil servants, students, and book enthusiasts.
Academic and literary circles in Lahore praised the event, expressing hope that the National Book Reading Movement will play a vital role in advancing a book-friendly culture nationwide.
