ISLAMABAD: Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry warned that India may be planning a false flag operation through maritime routes to malign Pakistan internationally. He told senior journalists that the armed forces were on high alert and had credible evidence of India’s “nefarious designs.”
The military spokesperson also rejected Kabul’s allegations that Pakistan had permitted US drones to operate against Afghanistan. “This claim is baseless,” he said, clarifying that Islamabad has no such agreement with Washington. The statement came as both Pakistan and Afghanistan extended a fragile ceasefire following Istanbul peace talks.

Lt Gen Chaudhry further linked rising militancy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to narcotics, revealing that poppy cultivation funds terrorism and involves local political actors. He reported that 112 foreign militants, mostly Afghan nationals, were eliminated in recent operations.
He urged the Afghan Taliban to fulfil their Doha pledges, warning that Pakistan prefers peace but will defend its sovereignty if provoked.
