At a flag-hoisting ceremony in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz made a firm commitment to alleviate the economic burden on the citizens by working diligently to reduce inflation and electricity prices, instilling a sense of hope in the nation’s economic future, as reported by state-run Radio Pakistan.
Stressing the need for self-introspection to correct mistakes of the past, he called for a “fresh journey with new zeal to steer the country out of existing crises.”
The premier highlighted that “hard work, honesty, and passion” were needed to set the country on the path of development and prosperity.
Terming a decrease in inflation and electricity bills as vital to provide solace to domestic power consumers, PM Shehbaz said the nation would soon hear good news regarding power bills in the next few days and that a five-year economic program will soon be launched.
Echoing the army chief’s remarks last night assailing “digital terrorism,” the prime minister said the “foes of Pakistan have continuously been targeting the minds of young people through digital terrorism to mislead them.”

He called on the youth to ‘avoid becoming prey to the forces of chaos, anarchy, and deception, such as extremist ideologies, political unrest, and false promises.’
President Zardari, in his address, underscored the day as the ‘culmination of the historic political struggle of Muslims of India for their right to self-determination’, and fervently called for unity, integrity, and economic stability, fostering a sense of togetherness and national pride among the citizens.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted the theme of ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ (resolve for stability) this year.
