Chinese Premier Li Keqiang informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that Beijing saw Pakistan as a country whose security and economic well-being were of “utmost significance” to the region and to China.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz spoke with his Chinese counterpart on Thursday and addressed a variety of matters.
The talk concluded on a cordial tone, with the Chinese premier emphasising Pakistan’s role in the region.
The talk between the two leaders was marked by “warmth and cordiality,” in line with the traditions of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The two premiers shared New Year’s greetings and observed that bilateral ties between the two countries had strengthened.
