President Zardari Approves Parliament Sessions as Budget Presentation Nears

[post-views]

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the summoning of sessions of both the National Assembly and the Senate on June 10, according to an official statement issued on Tuesday.

As per the approval, the National Assembly will meet at 5:00pm, while the Senate session is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm on Wednesday.

The development comes as the federal government prepares to present the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, which is expected to outline key economic priorities, revenue targets, and public spending plans for the coming year.

Earlier, the government had indicated that the budget would be presented in the “coming days,” suggesting a possible delay from the previously announced date of June 10, which itself had been shifted from June 5. Officials said the final date, time, and venue would be confirmed later.

Reports also suggest that the budget presentation may now be postponed further to June 12, with a final decision expected soon.

The upcoming budget is seen as a crucial policy document amid ongoing economic challenges and negotiations over fiscal stability.
