Islamabad High Court has received a contempt of court petition against the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday.
The petition was filed due to the DC’s refusal to permit a rally in solidarity with Chief Justice of Pakistan, Umar Ata Bandial. The PTI files contempt of court petition against DC Islamabad for not allowing rally in support of CJP Umar Ata Bandial.
The PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, had announced the rallies to show solidarity with the CJP. The plea submitted by the PTI states that the district administration has violated the order of Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court who had directed the DC Islamabad to announce a decision regarding the rally request. However, the DC did not allow the rally, which amounts to contempt of court.
