On Monday, Punjab Police implemented enhanced security measures to protect churches, sacred minority religious sites, and the Christian community throughout the province. Inspector General Police (IGP) of Punjab, Usman Anwar, stressed the importance of collaboration between political leadership, the Christian community, and law enforcement to ensure peace and security. He specifically commended Sargodha Police for their effective management of a particularly challenging situation, demonstrating their commitment to the cause.

The IGP made these remarks during a meeting at the Central Police Office with former minister Ejaz Alam Augustine, lawmakers Tariq Gill, Shakeela Arthar, Waseem Sindhu, Bishop Asif, and social activist Samson Bhatti. The minority delegation proposed the establishment of interfaith committees at both the provincial and district levels, a testament to the unity and cooperation among different entities, to proactively prevent similar incidents in the future. This collaborative approach aims to foster greater understanding and cooperation among different religious communities, ultimately contributing to the maintenance of peace and security.
