RIYADH: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), in collaboration with the World Bank, has successfully concluded a five-day international program in Belgium and Germany aimed at strengthening knowledge exchange on data governance, artificial intelligence, and digital policy development.

The program brought together experts and officials to examine leading global practices in AI governance and regulatory frameworks. Participants engaged in a series of consultations and specialized sessions in Brussels and Berlin, where they met with European and international organizations, government institutions, nonprofit groups, and policy think tanks working in the fields of digital transformation and AI.

During the discussions, Saudi representatives presented the Kingdom’s progress in building a national data and AI ecosystem. They highlighted achievements in data governance, digital policies, and regulatory frameworks, while emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the responsible and ethical use of advanced technologies.

The sessions also focused on international cooperation in artificial intelligence, privacy and data governance standards, regulatory approaches, and challenges associated with emerging technologies across borders. Participants explored strategies to encourage responsible innovation and accelerate digital transformation.

Officials from SDAIA and the World Bank reviewed international best practices and discussed ways to expand cooperation and knowledge-sharing initiatives that can support the Kingdom’s growing AI and data sector.

The program forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to strengthen global partnerships and benefit from international expertise.
