Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif has announced a party rally in Sheikhupura on December 30th. Taking to social media, the former prime minister expressed his intention to visit the city as a representative of his father, Nawaz Sharif, and convey his message.
Emphasizing PML-N’s strong roots in Sheikhupura, Sharif declared: “This city has always been a stronghold of Nawaz Sharif and the PML-N.” He further asserted that if voters favour Nawaz Sharif in the upcoming elections, “the journey of development in the country will resume from where it was halted in 2017.”
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Sharif highlighted the party’s growing strength and inclusive approach. He expressed his ambition to make PML-N “the strongest political force” in the country and emphasized the importance of uniting diverse voices under a common goal: “prospects for the country’s prosperity.”
Warm welcomes were extended to new party members, particularly those from Sindh. Sharif stated, “I want to welcome all those who have joined the PML-N. We value and appreciate your commitment to our cause.”
Commenting on the Peshawar High Court’s recent verdict, Sharif voiced concerns about its implications: “The PHC’s ruling seems like an attempt to undermine the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). It raises questions about their jurisdiction in such matters.”
