ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its “steadfast support” to Pakistan’s peace efforts during a telephone conversation with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the call, the prime minister congratulated the Saudi leadership on the signing of the “Islamabad Peace Deal,” calling it an important step forward for regional diplomacy and stability.
He praised Saudi Arabia’s “wise leadership” and its consistent role in supporting peace and stability during recent regional developments, saying Riyadh had played a constructive and stabilizing role throughout the crisis.
Both leaders agreed that the next phase of engagement should continue to be guided by dialogue, diplomacy, and sustained vigilance against any efforts that could derail the peace process.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed satisfaction over the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding economic cooperation under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 framework.
