South Africa’s white-ball team shuffles leadership

South Africa’s new white-ball coach, Rob Walter, has revealed his first squads with Aiden Markram named as the T20 captain. However, the former skipper, Faf du Plessis, was not included in the one-day and Twenty20 international series against the West Indies this month.

Cricket South Africa Director, Enoch Nkwe, clarified that the door is not closed on Du Plessis or other non-contracted cricketers.

Markram, who recently scored a fine 115 in the Test match against West Indies, was appointed as the T20 captain, as expected. Test captain, Temba Bavuma, was not included in the T20 squad but will continue to lead the ODI side.
