ANKARA: U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States is prepared to launch another round of military strikes against Iran following attacks carried out a day earlier, signaling a possible escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday while attending the NATO summit in Turkey, Trump said the United States would continue its military response against Iran if necessary.
“I’ll give a little warning: We’re going to hit them hard tonight,” Trump said before holding a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
The remarks came after the United States conducted strikes against Iranian targets on Tuesday, although Trump did not provide details about the nature or location of the planned operations. His comments suggested that Washington is prepared to intensify its military campaign if developments on the ground warrant further action.
Trump’s warning is expected to heighten concerns over regional stability, as fears grow that continued military exchanges between the United States and Iran could trigger a broader conflict in the Middle East.
The latest developments come as world leaders gather at the NATO summit, where security challenges, including the conflicts involving Iran, Ukraine, and broader regional stability, are high on the agenda. International observers are closely monitoring the situation amid concerns that any further escalation could have significant geopolitical and economic consequences.
