LAHORE: Pakistan’s cricket squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 is still awaiting the issuance of visas by India, leading to the cancellation of their “team-bonding trip” to Dubai, as per a report by Republic Policy News on Friday.
The Pakistani team had originally planned to depart for Dubai early next week, followed by their journey to India in preparation for their first warm-up match against New Zealand scheduled for September 29.
However, the latest update indicates that the team will now travel to Dubai and subsequently depart for Hyderabad, India, next Wednesday. Notably, Pakistan is the only team among the nine participating nations yet to receive their visas.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed concern over this delay and has officially informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the situation.
