[post-views]

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations on Sunday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, focusing on the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East and ongoing diplomatic efforts to preserve regional peace.

During his discussion with Prince Faisal, Dar expressed concern over the latest regional developments and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He also conveyed condolences on behalf of Pakistan’s leadership and people over the helicopter crash in Ras Tanura that claimed 14 lives. Prince Faisal appreciated the gesture and informed Dar of his plans to visit Pakistan at the earliest mutually convenient opportunity.

In a separate call, Kaja Kallas praised Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives but voiced concern over reported ceasefire violations. Dar stressed the importance of respecting the ceasefire agreement and continuing dialogue to prevent further escalation, with both sides agreeing to remain in close contact.
